Why a plan beats a crisis.

Most tree problems are cheap at the scouting stage and expensive in a storm. A scale infestation spotted on a spring walk is a targeted treatment; found a year later, it’s a declining canopy. A weak branch union flagged in May is a pruning cut; found by an August thunderstorm, it’s a limb on the roof. The whole point of a care plan is to be the ones who find these things first — on the same property, year after year, so nothing gets a running start.

Every plan begins the same way: a free property walk and a written plan — what your trees need, what they don’t, and what it costs, before anything starts. There are no pre-paid spray calendars here; we treat only what scouting confirms, the same IPM-first approach behind our Plant Health Care program. And plans run in simple annual terms — we earn the renewal with results.

What’s in a Sacred Tree Service care plan?

A Sacred Tree Service care plan is assembled from three programs — new-tree establishment, an annual property-wide plan, and palm protection. Use one or combine them; the free walk tells us which ones your property actually needs.

New-Tree Establishment Program

Years 1–3

The first one to three years after planting decide whether a young tree makes it — and Florida’s sandy soils and split wet/dry seasons make establishment different here than anywhere up north.

Palm Protection Program

Every 3–4 months

For palms under lethal bronzing pressure — the disease spreading through Central Florida that cannot be cured once a palm shows symptoms. Prevention is the only play, and the schedule is the whole game.

OTC (oxytetracycline) trunk injections every 3–4 months, per UF/IFAS protocol
Symptom checks on every visit — bronzing fronds, spear leaf condition
Frond care on the UF/IFAS cadence: only dead or dying fronds, never a “hurricane cut”

A plan year

What does a plan year look like in Central Florida?

Central Florida sets the schedule: a wet season from June to September with a county fertilizer blackout in Orange, Seminole, and other counties, hurricane season from June through November, and a cool, dry window that’s ideal for structural pruning. A plan year works with that calendar, not against it.

Spring scout & written plan
Feb–Apr

The year starts with a walk of the whole property: soil sampling, pest and disease scouting, a look at every tree and palm on the plan. You get written findings and the season’s plan — what needs doing, what can wait, and what needs nothing at all.

Storm-season prep check
May–Jun

Before hurricane season opens in June, we check the things storms find first: weak branch unions, deadwood, over-heavy canopy, staking still on young trees. Any structural pruning gets scheduled to the ANSI A300 standard — cleaning and reduction, never topping.

Summer monitoring
Jun–Sep

Orange, Seminole, and other Central Florida counties prohibit fertilizing from June 1 to September 30, so summer is for watching, not feeding. We monitor for the wet-season problems — fungal issues, scale, borers, early lethal bronzing symptoms — and treat only what scouting confirms. Palm injections continue on their own 3–4 month cadence.

Fall feeding & winter structural work
Oct–Jan

When the blackout lifts on October 1, sandy Central Florida soils get their deep-root fertilization — sand leaches nutrients fast, and the fall feeding carries trees into the dry season. The cool months that follow are the best window for structural pruning, so that work gets lined up while defects are still easy to see.

Around that core we add what your property actually needs — storm-season prep checks before hurricane season, establishment care for newly planted trees, and palm protection (OTC trunk injections every 3–4 months where lethal bronzing is a threat). You get a written plan up front, and we only treat what scouting confirms.

How much does an annual tree care plan cost in Central Florida?

Plans are priced per property, based on tree count, species mix, and what the initial walk finds — a small yard with a few oaks is very different from an acre with mature canopy and a dozen palms. The initial property walk is free, and you get the plan and the price in writing before anything starts. Per-tree services inside the plan (deep-root fertilization, trunk injections) are itemized so you can see exactly what you are paying for. We do not sell pre-paid spray calendars.

What is new-tree establishment care?

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

Not a multi-year one. Plans run in simple annual terms, sized from a free property walk, with the full terms in a plain-English agreement you approve before anything starts — and we earn each renewal with results. Most customers stay because the same team walking the same property every season catches problems while they are still cheap to fix: a scale infestation before it spreads, a girdling root before it strangles, a weak branch union before hurricane season finds it.

What is the difference between a care plan and one-time plant health care?

A one-time plant health care visit solves a problem that is already visible — a declining oak, a pest outbreak, a nutrient deficiency. A care plan is continuity: the same team tracking your trees season over season, so most problems get caught at the scouting stage before they cost real money. Both are available; we will honestly tell you which one your property needs. A single healthy oak may need nothing more than a pruning cycle — a property with new plantings, mature canopy, and palms almost always benefits from the plan.
